Start-Up Assistance

The TCEDA partners with the Valley Sierra SBDC to provide no-cost expert business advising, management training, and market research for Tuolumne County small and mid-sized business owners.  SBDC certified business advisors offer one-on-one technical assistance to support small business owners with strategic planning and long-term growth issues.

Certified business advisors are knowledgeable professionals who have extensive experience owning, managing, or guiding businesses in a wide variety of industries.  The Valley Sierra SBDC is co-located with Workplace Sonora and serves Tuolumne, Mariposa, Merced and Stanislaus Counties.

The Valley Sierra SBDC is part of the California Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Program who are statewide leaders in providing small business owners and entrepreneurs with the tools and guidance needed to become successful in today’s challenging economic climate. These services are delivered throughout California via an extensive network of thirty-five Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs).

The TCEDA partners also with SCORE which is a non-profit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow, and achieve their goals through education and mentorship.  SCORE works in partnership with SBA, and provides volunteer mentors, business tools, and workshops.  For more information: Tuolumne County SCORE



The InnovationLab is a project of the TCEDA focused on building, growing and attracting innovative companies to Tuolumne County.

In its roughly 6,000 square feet it hosts offices for for-profits, non-profits and educational enities to interact and build a better future for Tuolumne County. The InnovationLab also features a makerspace, classrooms and video/audio rooms along with unique prototyping equipment. For more information: InnovationLab
